Unfortunately in the early hours of Thursday morning, eXceems server suffered from a hard drive/raid failure. I did hope that this could be fixed by swapping one of the hard drives and allowing the RAID to repair its self, which would have taken at most 1 hours. Unfortunately that did not work so the server had to be formatted, the operating system reloaded, then configure and secure the server. This has now all been completed and the server is now back up and running.
The most annoying part of this is that the server died 10 minutes before the daily automated backup was made, so all posts, private messages & trade comments/listings from Wednesday have been lost.
I apologise for all of this, looking at what has happened no person or company is responsible for this, itÂ’s a case of some really bad luck. I will shortly be paying for some extra off server backup space and start 12 hour backups and maybe even 6 hour backups, to ensure all the eXceem data is safe. While some of you may wonder why it took so long to get things fixed, it has happened quite quickly as I had to go through the same process when the server was first setup and it took closer to 3 days.
Now its back to bed for me to catch up on a nights lost sleep
